Eugeniy was born in Plovdiv Bulgaria in an well-known family of musicians - international prize-winner soprano and vocal-professor Elena Baldgieva-Chevkenov and pianist Vladimir Chevkenov. Graduated Plovdiv School of Music, where he studied with Prof. Darina Dankova, Chevkenov was awarded 1st Prizes at the Bulgarian National Violinist Competition and National Chamber-music Competition at age of 17. He continued his education at Sofia Music Academy with Prof. Popova and Prof. Stankoff and gradueted with Master-degree. He holds also Master-degree of Unviersität für Musik u. darstellende Kunst Wien, where he studied with Prof. Sivo and Prof. Schubert. During his studies in Vienna he won numerous awards and prizes, while also playing regularly for 5 seasons in Wiener Philharmoniker and Wiener Staatsoper, including Salzburger Festspiele and worldwide international tours with this exqusite orchestra. 

His exceptional carrer as a soloist brought him to perform in over 35 countries arround the world (USA, Japan, China, Mexico, the most European countries) in some of the most prestigious halls: Carnegie Hall New York, Musikverein and Konzerthaus Vienna, Bellas Artes Mexico City, Osaka Symphony Hall, Tokio Metropolitan Arts Center etc. In 2000 he was awarded Honor-Citizenship by the Government of Austria and the Mayor of Vienna, for his extraordinary achievements as a musician. Maestro Chevkenov founded in 2002 “Ensemble Concertante Vienna” and won international recognition as its Soloist and Conductor, in Europe, America and even in China, where the Ensemble played at the revealing of the Johann Strauss-Monument in Beijing. In 2006 & 2007 the President of Austrian Parliament Mrs. Barbara Prammer took “Ensemble Concertante Vienna” under her Patronage.

1997-2001 he teaches at The Summer Academy at Theresianum, Vienna. Since 2007 he is Principal at Europe Music Academy - EMA Vienna. He has tought Master-classes in USA, South-Korea, Japan, China, Austria, Bulgaria and Greece and had the honor of being a Jury-Member at “Franz Schubert International Competition” Russe 2005 and “Dobrin Petkov International Violin Competition” Plovdiv 2007.

In 2000 he was appointed Professor for violin and chamber-music at “Gustav Mahler Music Conservatory”, Vienna and in 2012 has been promoted to Deputy-Director of this internationaly aknowledged music education facility.

Since 2013 Prof. Chevkenov is faculty member of the most prestigious Summer-courses in Vienna - "Wiener Musikseminar".
